Marijuana laws and legislation for Turku
From 2025, recreational cannabis will remain illegal in Finland. Possession, sale, and cultivation are subject to severe penalties. Possession of small amounts can lead to fines or up to six months in prison, while more serious offenses such as trafficking can result in harsher sentences.
Despite active public debates, including citizen initiatives for decriminalization and regulated sales, no significant legislative changes were passed.
Finland has a limited medical cannabis program that allows patients with certain conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, access to cannabis-based medications like Sativex with a doctor's prescription. However, due to strict regulations, the number of eligible users remains low.
CBD products are classified as medicines and require a prescription, but CBD cosmetics and products containing less than 0,3% THC are legally available. Although public interest in cannabis reform is growing, Finland's policies remain among the strictest in Europe, and there are no immediate signs of legalization.
Criminal prosecution
A small fine for consuming or possessing less than 15g of marijuana or 10g of hashish (the minimum fine is €60). A well-behaved (and lucky) adult may escape punishment if they don't cause any trouble and the police officer is having a good day.
Some police officers know they have more important things to do than bother someone with a joint in their lips. Public smoking is not uncommon in the city center on weekends, but is generally not recommended, except at hippie concerts and similar events.
Where can you buy marijuana?
In summer, the best places to find marijuana are along the riverbank or in the parks. Just look out for the odd-looking people in the crowd. You might get lucky in the Latino/hippie bars downtown. And at "cheap" festivals/concerts in cheap venues, there are always a few people smoking outside, since smoking is prohibited indoors.
Sometimes it's simply easier to join other people, as it's much easier to get a free ride than to buy something.
Comments
In a charming shop on the street, I received excellent advice on purchasing high-quality, natural cannabis. The quality made my visit unforgettable. I can always reach them at securedsupplier420@gmail.com. Highly recommended for top-notch marijuana.
Marijuana prices
€10-20 for a gram of weed. I wouldn't recommend buying hashish, except from older guys, as it's most likely just soapy crap.
Marijuana brands
Many of these are most likely homegrown, and there's a special Turku brand called Yeti, and of course Turku G13 hits like a sledgehammer 🙂
Further information
Finns are very shy, so don't worry if they don't talk much. Most young people understand English anyway. Just find some nice company.
