Marijuana laws and legislation for Rovaniemi
From 2025, recreational cannabis will remain illegal in Finland. Possession, sale, and cultivation are subject to severe penalties. Possession of small amounts can lead to fines or up to six months in prison, while more serious offenses such as trafficking can result in harsher sentences. Despite active public debate, including citizen initiatives for decriminalization and regulated sales, no significant legislative changes have been passed.
Finland has a limited medical cannabis program that allows patients with certain conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, access to cannabis-based medications like Sativex with a doctor's prescription. However, due to strict regulations, the number of eligible users remains low.
CBD products are classified as medicines and require a prescription, but CBD cosmetics and products containing less than 0,3% THC are legally available. Although public interest in cannabis reform is growing, Finland's policies remain among the strictest in Europe, and there are no immediate signs of legalization.
Criminal prosecution
The Rovaniemi police are completely incompetent. So if you get caught with weed, your vacation is ruined. However, if you don't smoke in public (during rush hour in the city center), it's very unlikely you'll get caught.
Not all police officers know much about marijuana, so it's pretty easy to distract them. Remember not to be too drunk, because then you'll most likely get caught if you're carrying marijuana.
Where can you buy marijuana?
Finland is an intolerant country when it comes to drugs, and most people think marijuana is the same as heroin, etc. So don't just ask around. Your best bet is to find local pot smokers (young people like skateboarders, hippies, and scruffy teenagers). If that doesn't work, you can always ask a young man in a bar (the best bars for smoking weed are Doris Night, Café Tivoli, and Amarillo). He probably knows someone who can smoke it. Teaming up with other tourists who smoke weed is also a good idea, as some of us locals might have the courage to come around and ask for some. In that case, he or she probably knows someone who grows weed or can smoke it.
There are some Asians who hang around the center during the day, and I've seen them openly smoking joints, so you can ask them for weed. Just ask them "Ganja?" and they should understand.
Don't misunderstand the Finns. We may seem shy or reserved, but that's not the case.
Marijuana prices: A free hit or a joint is more common than a dealer selling openly.
However, if you happen to run into a dealer, he will probably charge 10-20 euros per gram.
Please see or smell the grass before buying it!
Comments
In a charming shop on the street, I received excellent advice on purchasing high-quality, natural cannabis. The quality made my visit unforgettable. I can always reach them at securedsupplier420@gmail.com. Highly recommended for top-notch marijuana.
Marijuana brands
The brands vary from low-quality leaves to very high-quality buds. Travelers or tourists usually get good weed, because we Finnish stoners value a good reputation.
Common brands include Indoor Skunks, Indicas and Sativas, Northern Lights, Kali Mist, Apollo 11, and so on. But good buds are harder to find.
Further information
Remember not to get too high in public. Someone might call the police.
