Marijuana laws and legislation for Limassol
Marijuana has been illegal in Cyprus since 2025, both for recreational and medicinal purposes. The country has enacted strict laws prohibiting the consumption, possession, and cultivation of cannabis. Possession of even small amounts of marijuana can lead to severe penalties, including fines, imprisonment, or both.
The cultivation of cannabis is also illegal, and the government has taken no significant steps toward decriminalizing marijuana or legalizing medical cannabis. Although discussions about the potential benefits of medical cannabis are taking place in Cyprus, the country continues to maintain a strict stance against marijuana use. The legal framework remains prohibitive, and there are few signs of reform.

Criminal prosecution
The police can't do anything to you if they don't find anything on you. Never admit to smoking (they can't force you to take blood or urine tests). If you get caught, you'll probably get a good scolding. Girls get off much more easily.

Where can you buy marijuana?
As a tourist, you're out of luck! Everything you buy is cut. You might as well get drunk on the most expensive liquor you can find; that'll definitely save you a few pounds. If you know at least one "rich" local who's a keen smoker and you trust them, that's the only way to be sure of getting your hands on the good stuff. If you ask around in the right circles, you can even find mushrooms from Holland. Brilliant! A little tip: Most upper-class 25- to 35-year-olds are all stoners... very secretive, some not so much...

Marijuana prices
Limassol is the drug capital of Cyprus (due to its main port). Prices are lower than in other cities.
Normal prices in Limassol:
10–15 pounds for one gram
50 pounds for 7-8 grams (unless you get ripped off)

Marijuana brands
In Limassol, you can find White Widow and other varieties from Amsterdam. Hashish is extremely rare in Cyprus and is usually of high quality, as it comes from Lebanon.
