Marijuana laws and legislation for Dundee
Since February 2025, recreational cannabis has been illegal in Scotland and is classified as a Class B drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Possession can lead to imprisonment of up to five years, an unlimited fine, or both. Trafficking and production carry even harsher penalties, with a potential prison sentence of up to 14 years. Despite ongoing debate and proposals for decriminalization, such as the Scottish Government's 2023 proposal to decriminalize possession of all drugs for personal use in an effort to combat high drug-related deaths, no legislative changes have yet been enacted.
In contrast, cannabidiol (CBD) products are legal in Scotland as long as they contain less than 0,2% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) is working on the approval of CBD products, with the first approvals expected in spring 2025. This step aims to provide clarity and security for consumers. CBD products are currently available in various forms, including oils, edibles, and cosmetics, provided they comply with THC content regulations.
It is important to note that while CBD is legal, products with a THC content exceeding the legal limit remain prohibited. Consumers should exercise caution and ensure they purchase CBD products from reputable sources to comply with legal regulations.

As long as you don't ask a police officer, the likelihood of getting caught is quite low.

If you go to the church (to the church tower), you will meet many teenagers there. They usually have a contact for buying marijuana and should help you get some.

Marijuana prices
20 pounds sterling (don't carry coins, always carry banknotes, otherwise you won't get anything) for a "half q", i.e. half of a quarter ounce (eighth).
Marijuana brands
I've never bought anything other than mid-range quality weed, although you can ask the dealer if they have better brands, which they sometimes do. Don't expect to get hashish resin, as it's rarely available.

Don't expect people to always be hanging on the church tower, but the best time is on weekends from about 17.00-18.00 pm.
